On 9th December the Weaver Sailing Club held their annual Christmas Party. Though this year it had a bit of a twist and was held at the club house itself. A few of us decorated a tree and the tables etc (It’s amazing how you can transform a place in a couple of hours). People arrived from 7pm. We had a pre ordered takeaway and a “bring your own drink” theme which was attended by 39 of our members. Probably one of the best turnouts to date! There was a bit of a tight squeeze around the tables but that made it all the more cosy. Following the food we had a trophy presentation. This included sailing and ski members alike. From our up and coming youngsters to those of us who are from a more ancient era! (I guess everyone will be really trying to impress this year ready for the polished trophies to come out again at the end of the year!) The drinks flowed and we had a raffle, prizes were kindly donated by club members and the raffle raised about £85 which was amazing. The disco lights and music got some more adventurous people on the floor and some sang into the early hours on the karaoke. It was a cracking night and well worth the effort because we all work together as such a good team. The club house belongs to us and we certainly DID celebrate that this year. Here’s to the next one.
