Welcome to the Weaver Sailing Club Web Pages
W.S.C. is a sailing club formed 40 years ago to promote and facilitate the sport of dinghy sailing. The Club is located on the lower reaches of the River Weaver near Frodsham, Cheshire. Sailing can take place over a 2.5 mile stretch of water that goes from the railway viaduct to the Manchester Ship Canal offering sheltered sailing between reed banks, to wider stretches open to Westerly winds across the Mersey Estuary.
The river is a habitat for wildlife. A variety of birds live by the river:at least 2 pairs of swans have had signets in 2009, herons regularly fish, cormorants can be seen diving, ducks and moorhens live amongst the reeds. Sightings include stoat, kingfisher and owls.A picnic area next to the club provides a pleasant place to relax. One commercial grain barge occasionally plods up the river maintaining the link to the industrial past.
A new, well appointed club house provides the centre for members social activities; facilities even include a sauna!
The Club has had a successful year recruiting new members, partly due to the newly acquired status as a RYA Teaching Centre, and hopes to welcome more members in 2010.

For 2010 the club is offering a supervised Youth Night on Tuesday evenings - although young people are welcome to attend at other times, too.
